    small crack on manifold were wastgate is

    im not 100% but i think i can see a small crack just inside the wastegate when it is open?it is very small if it is a crack but what would this cause if it was a crack?loss of power???

    It should be fine mate, its the most common thing with these turbos i think... nearly everyone of them seems to have cracks once removed after loads of miles

    my origial turbo was cracked by the waste gate, (internally) and it was down around 10bhp

    AOC top 15 car at PVS 2009 & 2010

    yep is very common as the manifold arent designed to go on and on,i had a hairline in the same place and didnt cause any problems..eventually the turbo went pop so just ditched the mani and had a new zleh one fitted

    i will be changing turbo soon once this 1 is on last legs but thought my car wasnt pulling like it used to and also have a strange noise coming from collins dv and thought this mite be to blame.i suppose i can only find out once changed turbo.

    Have the crack as well. Doesn't seem to create any problems at all.
    Every manifold I have ever seen had a hairline crack at the exact same place.
    Loss of power might be due to something else. When heated up to running temperature, the material expands and the crack will close up, until it cools down again.
