my standard turbo started kicking out plumes of smoke so with very near i had to fix it quick.
took it to midpoint garage to get a quote, and what list of new toys ill be needing.
it was a nothing special install, vxr turbo, restrictor bolt, yada yada. i asked to have an uprated collins actuator so its something a bit nicer in the engine bay.
handed the car to him last saturday and i knew his schedule was very tight with pvs near and every man and his dog is finishing off final tweeks.
so, i picked it up on friday at 4pm with an aim to see it on the rollers after a remap, while i was their, happened to see a few familiar faces, Ateeur, i think he lives their now
Ian also mentioned he didnt buy and install the collins because the vxr actuator is brand new, it wont need replacing for another 12 months, so saved a bit of cash their.
bit of info on my current toys.
full 3" SS exhaust from turbo with 200 cell sports cat
large TX intercooler and large 63mm piping
standard airbox with k&n and vec c air scoop
sparks and other usual stuff
before the exhaust, intercooler and turbo i hit 221 bhp with 217 torque.
now, it hit 289.2 BHP and 378 lbft torque.
holy c**p that torques crazy. Ian said its a high torque map and he himself was impressed with the figures and said it was all down to the exhaust.
i asked how i should drive it with pvs here its gonna get some stick, he said drive as normal strait away just let it warm up and cool down adequatley.
drove it home down the nice windey road to manchester, and wow, the first boot in 3rd i did, it scared me as the front of the car just kept sat up all the way. still not hit it in 1st or 2nd yet.
very impressed and happy with their service and outcome similar to whats been echoed accross this forum.
