idling high for a min or so

Hey im not fully sure if its the Idle control valve on my car that is playing up but today for instance it was very warm in my works car park and when i struck it up to go home it still idles high for a minute or so, bit like a auto-choke. Should this be happening im warm condition caz i dont think it should, does my ICV need a better clean up??

Mine does it no matter what the weather. Doesn't seem to settle in any quicker in 20c heat than it does in -2c heat lol.

Does the 1.4 16v have an ICV? The 1.6 16v (Z16XE) doesn't, the idle speed is ECU controlled.

exactly as buckle. it will be the auto choke, regardless of weather, even if its 30c the engine will still be cold.

what are you classing as "high"? mine starts at about 10K and goes to 750 when warm which i think is normal

Mine gets a little confused on occasion and does that, but once in a blue moon so I've always ignored it

Oh my god. That's gonna sound awful if your car starts off with an idle of 10k RPM's
