Whos right on price of car tax

Astra 1.7 cdti Estate 100 bhp first registered 9 June 2006

Parkers Guide has it listed as Band E £110 per year from April of this year.

The dealer reckons its tax band C and its £120 per year

    Who is right?

used car dealer or main dealer?

C should be cheaper than E anyway, but I'd side with Parkers.

Same here and I got mine last week.

Tax band C IIRC is £30, as thats what my lasses car is, and she has a ford focus 1.6TDCI 110bhp, She pays less on road tax than me and has about the same power if not more than me

as from 1st april 2010 the following pricing bands apply: band A is £0, band B is £15 band C is now £30 a year, band D is £90 a year, Band E is £110 a year, Band F is £125 a year, Band G is £155. hope that helps, from memory when i was looking i was going to initially get a diesel for cheaper tax bands, and the 1.3 is a band D and the 1.7 is band E, i ended up buying a 1.6 petrol in band G, i'm pretty certain i've got that right as i spent a lot of time working it out!!!

Thanks for the reply guys it was £110 the dealer was working from his old info before the budget.

I do believe it was a genuine mistake on his behalf and the £10 I saved will go towards my increased insurance fees.
