    i can smell oil in the car when i come to a stop mk4 gsi turbo

    i can smell oil in the car when i come to a stop mk4 gsi turbo i can see any oil leaks and does not blow smoke it smells like it come from the heater vents what could it be please
    sold the gsi and got a 2008 sri mk5 now in black

    what kind of GSi did you buy mate? every day you[ve posted a problem since you've had it, i think you've just got a case of turbo jitters :P

    but... check for excessive oil in the boost pipes/intercooler and check your oil level on the dipstick

    At a guess I bet you have some sort of cone filter fitted instead of the standard air box

    Check crankcase breather pipes aswell for splits and cracks, or just come off

    Yeh sounds like the breather pipe mate you will have to undo the 6mm nut holding the ali cross over pipe its probably perished the pipe underneath

    Check for any leaks in engine bay like rocker cover and make sure nothing is dripping on to manifold/turbo/downpipe as it will burn with the heat and stink.

    iv got the same thing, but i know my rocker cover gasket is leaking at the moment, check yours as said above
