    Just killed the van!!!!!

Well i know the engine is not great anyway but its been drivable.

Went over to the inlaws this evening and on the way back along the ring roads its started to get very sluggish and jerky..

Pulled into Te4sco to get a few bits and when came back out it was very very reluctant to start.
When it did there was clouds of thick smoke out the back, pulled off out the car park and it revved on its own to 4K with LOTS of smoke switched key off but still going on its own for a few seconds till it died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well now it is time to look for a donar car for a transplant...... 16v or V6 ???

z20let seems the obvious choice to me. Crack on you can have it done in a weekend. I know I would have if I had put the frigging ECU earth to the ECU rather than the strut top . Took me 2 weeks to work out why it wouldnt start

V6 vans are always cool but there is a lot more work involved (but on the up side a lot less cost)
It would definitely go better with an engine in it

yeah would love a let but its a very expensive conversion. im looking at a cheap ish relatively straight forward swap.

so will prob be a 2.0 ecotec going in.

How much work is a V6? is it much different? i just love the noise

Noquite as addictive as my V8 in my range rover with hardly no exhaust system

the v6 is as long as a 3 potter so needs the drivers side mount spaced out amongst other things. Its also a lot more work with the wiring. Do a search for the v6 conversion tho, theres loads of info on it.

2.0 ecotec would be an easy swap though

might have to be the eco tec then im sure i can get a fair bit more power out of it from the 140bhp standard.

and its a hell of a lot more than i have now
