    catalic converter

    hi there i have recently brought a 51plate astra 1.6 comfort and i am not sure if the catalyic converter has been removed or not where should it be and what should it look like ? thanks sam.

    it should be near the front of the car, follow the exhaust down then it should bulge about 10 inches or so that would be your cat

    Any idea if it's an 8v or 16v engine?

    16v cat is part of the exhaust manifold, I think the 8v has it after this, why do you suspect it has been removed?

    look at the front of the engine, there should be a silver plate, under there is the start of ur exhaust (manifold), its a large can shape ur looking for, that is ur cat bud
