Changing the batt in the key....

My batt is dying on the key but everywhere I go to refuse to do the job because they said its on a "TIMER" and if the key's not put back together in time it will lose all its data. Is this true?

If so, does anyone know how much the Vauxhall "Stealer" charges for it?

Im located in Cardiff so could travel to Newport, Barry, BIGend...if anyone knows where to get it done on the cheap?

    Cheers guys/Gals

Is it for a mk4 or mk5? If it's mk4 you can get a battery out and new one in in less than a minute, i don't think it will need resetting after this amount of time. Unsure on mk5 though.

You can buy a battery of ebay for couple of quid and change it yourself, as said already its a 2 minute job.

CR2032 is what you want, just make sure you don't lose the transponder thing when you open the key. Small black piece of plastic that sits above the key blade once you have pulled it off the fob.
