lowered but dont like how wheels sit

i lowered my mk4 cab before xmas, i dropped it 35mm front and 30mm rear. it looks ok from the front n side but i dont like the way the rear wheels (standard 16s) sit about 2 inches into the arches. if i was to fit some 9mm or so spacers would it look any better and would i need to get longer threaded bolts or would the standard ones be ok? many thanks

    You could fit spring assisters.
They are actually designed for people who tow caravans.
But they stop the spring from compressing with wieght in the back.
I have used them a couple of times to get me out of trouble when I lowered my old Corsa B on 17" alloys and for awhile on my old mk4 when running 18".
It allowed me to go 5 up in the car and it stopped any rubbing when hitting the bumps.
they are not alot of money either. about £20 a pair I belive.
    Grayston make them.

i am running 12mm spacers on my vxr as the 19's sit too far under for me too. You will need longer bolts though mate, can be had from ebay. If you measure the standard bolt then just add on the 9mm or how ever long you go.

I'd reccomend a set of hubcentric spacers which bolt onto the hub with their own bolts and then you can use your original bolts to attach the wheels to them. I'm running 20mm spacers on the rear of my Coupe.
