    Unhappy F&%&ING Kwik-fit.....

Took my car to Kwik-fit this afternoon to get the wheels balanced.

When i told them why i wanted it done (steering wheel wobble at 65mph+) they said 'we'll check the tracking for free'

I come back 20 minutes later and my car is 8ft in the air with lasers on it, which is rather cool.

They show me exactly how much the tracking is out etc etc and I agree that they should amend it.

They sort all that out and I drive away.

INSTANTLY I notice that in order to go straight forward on a straight flat road I have to steer slightly right and when I align the steering wheel dead centre the car veers left.

    WTF

So I take it back and they do the tracking AGAIN and its still not right.

before I took it in it held a straight line like a f*£&ing knife, dead on, no veer at all. Fair enough the steering-wheel wobble is sorted (took it for a blast around Crawley) but FFS it's so annoying!

    What should I do?

Anyone know any decent mechanics near Reigate, Surrey?

I don't really wanna keep going back to kwik-fit because clearly their magic lasers aren't doing shit, can't fault their wheel balancing act but they've really pissed me off with the steering alignment.

Really they should fix it. If you go else where you'll get charged.. Maybe get a receipt for the work done and go to another Kwik-fix in the next town or something and tell them what happend
Be an optimist - at least until they start moving animals in pairs to Cape Canaveral.

Funnly enough I work for kwik fit, and when I tracked my astra I had exactly the same problem. I tracked it numorour times and its still the same. Best bet is to take it somewhere with a 'hunter' tracking system. They are 99.9% accurate.

I've only got the little jack that comes with the car so can't really get under to have a look

they showed me the car after they did the tracking to show the lasers all pointing at the rulers and so surely it must be right?

the wheels are aligned its just the steering wheel thats not straight now!?

Mate i work for national tyres, i tracked my own car and i have never had problem with the steering wheel, if they are laser alignment gauges, they shouldn't have no problem and should fix it imo. Maybe i have different equiptment
