top speed reached in gsi turbo or astra coupe turbo???

Just wondering what these cars are capable of in terms of top speed. Wot top speed have you lot met in your gsi turbos and coupe turbos??

Im wondering if mine would go over 150mph, when its running at 297bhp.

It will go over 150 of your rev limit has been increased, no astra turbo is going to have a better top end then another unless there rev limit is higher, or there gearbox has been played with

Tyre and wheel size also affects it due to different rolling radius. A bigger rolling radius = higher top speed as the engine and box are spinning the wheels at the same speed but as the wheel is bigger it travels further so faster

Based on a 6800 rev limit, 205/40/R17 tyres and a standard gearbox the theoretical max speed is 154.7. No doubt on a vauxhall clock that will be reading well over 160mph with most being up by around 10%.

Final drive of the f23 is 3.84, overdrive in 5th is 0.81
multiply the ratios together to get the absolute final drive ratio
    (3.84 X .81 = 3.11:1)

to calculate the tire diameter have your tire size. ex: 205/40/17
multiply sidewall (205mm) by the aspect ratio (.40) to get 82mm. this is the sidewall on one side so multiply by 2 to get the top and bottom sidewall (82 X 2 = 164)
divide this number by 24.5 to convert mm into inches. (164/24.5 = 6.69)
add this number to the wheel diameter to get a total rolling diameter of 23.69 inches. (6.69 + 17 = 23.69)

here, i'll brake it down again: 205/40/17 size tires
    205 X .40 = 82
    82 X 2 = 164
    164/24.5 = 6.69
    6.69 + 17 = 23.69 this is your rolling diameter in inches.

for the z20let we'll use 6800 rpm as its the standard redine without remapping.

now that you know the absolute gear ratio, tire diameter and maximum engine rpm you can apply this formula:

    mph = (rpm X tire dimeter) / gear ratio X 336

    (6800 X 23.69) / (3.84 X 336) = 154.7mph
It would definitely go better with an engine in it
