Engine Coolant Module fault - Op-Com codes inside

    Hi there,

Having a problem with my 2002 SRI-T. The engine coolant module light is on the dash, you know the one, the radiator shape with the fan in the middle.

It only used to come on when the fans would start while sitting in traffic etc, then if the ignition was turned off it would also turn off the light, but temps are sitting fine, fan is cutting in fine.

However, now it is coming on all the time, so I hooked up the car to op-com and it revealed the following codes for the Engine Cooling Module:

    OP-COM - KW82 Communication Window> 2002|Astra-G|Body|Engine Cooling Module

Total number of fault codes: 3

00021 - Pushing Blower Motor, Malfunction
    Not present

00031 - External Series Resistor, Circuit Open
    Not present

00023 - Pushing Blower Motor, Circuit open
    Not present

Can anyone shed some light on these codes? I cant seem to find anything on it using the search!

Should also note I change the coolant in the car last week, if that makes any difference? Coolant level is normal.

seeing as they are "not present" they are past faults so id clear em then take it from there, if they reappear then u know u still have issues but not present codes mean diddly squat tbh

have u cleared these before or is this the first time youve checked em?

Aye, tried clearing them but I keep getting a fault along the line of "ECU busy" etc. Ill try clearing them again though, see if it helps.

There still must be a root issue though, as the light would come on whenever the fan was activated?

yeah, im not disagreeing on that point, just saying that the codes need to be cleared first so u get a clean canvas to start from as it were

Managed to get them off, ended up it was only showing two codes:

Total number of fault codes: 2

00023 - Pushing Blower Motor, Circuit open
    Present

00021 - Pushing Blower Motor, Malfunction
    Present

However, they cleared fine, shall see if they come back on again when the fan kicks.

Shall take a look at this resistor pack, is it a common fault?

Light came back on again within a minute of me driving the car home from nightshift, so the problem is still there
