    DIY Cambelt Changing..How Difficult?

Righto, the time is nearing for the cambelt to be changed. The Astra currently is standing on 49,000 miles, and I am itching to get it done.

However, I've located the AMAZING how to guide on changing it, and faced with the prospect of saving a small fortune on labour, I want to change it myself.

Obviously I will be changing the waterpump as well. What I want to know is, how difficult of a job is this? My experience is average tbh, I fully service cars alot, change a few parts here and there as much as I can with my tools.

Anyone who has done this before, any advice? Or should I just leave it to a mechanic?

    Cheers

Have a crack at it mate, the haynes manual is also great for these types of jobs. Just make sure all the timing is right and it might be worth buying a cam locking tool.
