Question Anyone else have a problem with the gearbox?

Does anyone else find the gearbox a bit stiff and not wanting to go into first most of the time?

I do find on the odd occasion it doesn't go into first. However a re-dip of the clutch normally sorts it out. Cannot say I've had problems with any other gear doing this, not even once. Just first on the odd occassion.

If it seems like its a permanent problem and not just occassional get it back to the dealers for them to take alook at.

Mine is exactly the same although I'm waiting until I have put a few more miles on it to see if it gets any better.

My VXR does it sometimes. Put it in second, then it'll go straight into first.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

Its just a general Vauxhall problem that they will never fix lol. My MK4 is the same, although it doesn't happen that often, its annoying when it does. Like Luke, I just release the clutch and dip it again and it goes straight in.

Mines sticks a lot when trying to get it in first. Almost as if it is having trouble with the reverse and first gear locations.

Usually only happens when I'm out of gear and then trying to put it in to first. I've sat at traffic lights on few ocassions battling with the gear stick so I can move of. lol

I can also now confirm that after testing this out in the J this also works a charm, and is faster than de-clutching.
