    My life. Depressed!

    Hey guys,
Well life is tough at the moment, i dont like my job.
My outgoings are as low as i can get and i only have very little left.
I didnt go to uni but id love to do an apprenticeship..trouble is i dont think the pay would be enough.
Even something like cad or something.
I was very clever at school so sometimes regret not going to uni.
Im a qualified personal trainer but theres just not a market for that at the moment!

    Anyone got any ideas?

Someone take me under there wing! Ill train you in the gym and you can give me a job..haha

    Cheers

how old are you? You might be struggling for an apprenticeship if you're over 20.

As for other jobs, just apply for stuff. If you've got decent qualifications and some work experience, you just just need to sell yourself. Jobs are all being fought over at the mo because of the economy but you don't try, you don't get.

I work for a big supplement company in hull, just like taking orders, giving advice etc..pays only 12k a year, which is nothing after the tax man has taken his money.

come work on the trains mate, 35 hour week, £27k + sundays (roughly around £32k pa with standard overtime) for getting called all the names under the sun by passengers and selling a few tickets. 5 vacancies at bournemouth. alternatively, push a trolley through a train 41 hours a week for £21k, 3 vacancies for that i think.

never too late to go back into education

What ever outgoings you have they can be got rid off and are not essential. If you want to change your life you are young and now is the time. 3 years of hardship and not having all the things you have now could mean you have a very decent life in the future.

My sister finishes uni in July training to be a nurse she is 40 this year and has 2 kids 10 and 12 - it can be done

Whatever life throws at you you gotta keep your chin up - cliched I know but it's true. 3 months ago I was engaged with a house and a future. Now I'm back at mum's without a bedroom, a mountain of debt and a dick who I work with who won't pay me my due despite being a time-served plasterer. Should have got married yesterday actually! Tackle one thing at a time and you'll get where you want to be, just takes time. I only started my apprenticeship a month before I turned 20 and even then I knew it was a wise move. You may struggle to get on doing something like that at your age if you go through connexions or similar, but look around and there will be someone willing to teach you a trade for peanuts a week. Worth it in the long run.

Thats really good Mat, I was thinking about training to be a youth worker, but thought I might be knocking on a bit

To the OP, my ex started at a company as a test engineer with no qualifications at all...he then got trained up (at the companies cost) to be an electronics engineer and got mega bucks, obviously I dont know how much as he went very quiet at that stage of our divorce lol

    Chin up lad.

I've been in a dead end job for 5 years. They're now looking like they're going tits up.

I just scouted about and put the feelers out. I start a job offshore a week on monday. There's always something around the corner.
