    egr valve

right i could do with some advice regarding the egr valve on my astra. The thing is, i'm looking to block it off and i have been lookin online and have found that some can be blocked off no problem and others need an ecu update. I have a 1995 astra mk3 1.4 spi. So i'm just wondering would i need an update on the ecu to get it runnin right after blocking the egr. I hope someone has done this on this engine or knows more about it I'd be very greatful for any help thankyou.

i doubt on something as old as a 95 car, and being single point aswell, the ecu will be as sophisticated as to need one! just unplug the egr for a few days and see how the car drives. if its ok, just remove it, blank the manifold off and tape the connector somewhere out of the road! thats what id do!

my astra g 2001 mpi 8 valve needed an ecu update but i doubt yours will
