When did they modify the egr valve and swirl valves?

As title really. When did they modify/upgrade them to stop all the clogging up? Mine are getting done tomorrow and i wanna try and make sure they fit the uprated parts and not the same parts as i really dont wanna have to pay out another £770.

Not to sure on the exact date mate, you can tell by looking at the bar on top, ball and socket joints are metal then its the later one if they are plastic its the early one, they can still clog up, you need to get the ecu updated to have the "egr self clean" added, but above all these engines love being hammered every so often to clear them out, they are a very good engine they only go wrong because people just poodle around in them

Thats a very usefull bit of info thanks. So i take it if the ecu is updated with the egr self clean then it "shouldnt" suffer from blocking up problems ever again? Could you explain to me how exactly the egr self cleans itself? Just so that im armed with info and tell them tomorrow when i get it done.

When i dropped my car off earlier i asked them about this update and they said its not for the 1.9cdti only the 1.3 for the corsa's. Plus that wasnt an update to self clean, it was an update to stop the light coming on if the valve got stuck momentarily.

    So i dunno lol.
