which engine do you have ?

most people will argue the tossover this question as panel filters dont make much difference in bhp or noise on small engine cars. i how ever use a k&n on my 2.2 coupe and i like it

panel filter wont give you any sound increase. no power increase as such either, just better throttle response imo

and probably a shorter AFM life, if they have oil on them.

wont make a difference mate, taking the 2 pipes out of the airbox in theory makes the engine breathe better so in theory its better for the engine, however most people leave the top pipe in as it helps to direct the air slightly better, also a oiled panel filter (be it courtny k&n or piper) wont damage your afm and are slightly better for leting air through. also i would reccomend buying an enlarged intake pipe... most go for the vectra C pipe but i dont think it made a difference on my car whatsoever. so i brought a huge one from a member on here called beeson, he has a thread on it in the classifieds. and that made a difference and i loved it hope that helps.

with airbox mods (bottom pipe out, piper panel filter and beesons intake pipe) got my 6bhp extra on a 1.8...

Get one of these http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...d.php?t=224879 Your engine will breathe more cold air and you'll get something of an induction sound too. My 2.2 never felt better.

Edit: Erm, just noticed Adam Astra SXI saying the same thing above lol
