    seatbelt problem

My dads sri cdti has an issue with the seatbelt. The belt doesnt stay clipped into the 'buckle' part anymore. How easy is it to change this part?? And what is involved. Are there any pre tensioners or anything involved? Im hoping it is a case of undo a bolt or 2 and simply swap over.
Hopefully somebody can offer some advice.
    Thanks in advance.

i would personally take it to vauxhall, with it been such a large part of safety even if it is 2 bolts at least you have piece of mind and a receipt from vauxhall if anything goes wrong, just my personal opinion mate

    its 1 bolt, 2 wires
seat out job, need to undo the pretenstioner, t50 torqued to 35nm, but its got thread lock on so best to loosen 1/2 turn and tighten 1/2 a turn a couple of times.
lever out the connector block, clip a couple of cable ties, open up the spiral wrap then get the wires out,
can get part numbers if you want, wouldn't like to hazards a guess at the prices they'll charge for part or labour,

Can you get hold of that particular part? Its the one with warning that my dad will need to replace the current one.

Either buy it new from Vauxhall, or try ebay/breakers yards for a second hand one.

I have got a price from Vaux for £105.45 + vat. It is booked in at Vauxhall tomorrow, but they will charge £42.50 to have a look, then wont offer such a good price on the part as that price is with discount and will add on however much labour to the job. It will turn in to hundreds.
The service guy i spoke to when I booked it in advised not to do it myself as it can effect the airbags etc. Is he just scaremongering, or is there real risk involved with doing a change of pretensioner???

    Thanks
