if your going to rebuild it then its pointless rebuilding it to standard spec as you would be able to go out and buy another zlet cheaper and just drop it straight in

Expect £1000 plus labour, you can save loads by doing the removal, stripping and refit yourself for the labour.

    original thread: http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...d.php?t=253696

now the car still has no boost and low compression on cylinder 3. its starts to misfire every now and again and when is does i get a very abnormal loud click noise which runs with how fast the engine runs, (the faster the engine ticks over, the quicker the clicking) this clears after a little while and is fine for a bit, but then starts again.

if this piece of spark plug has made its way through, i'm guessing the fins need replacing in the turbo which i can get done no worries and new shaft and rebuilt fr £200 with a 2 yr warrenty from a local firm. what damage would it have caused in the head worst case and any idea what cost?

only way to find what damage has been done is to strip it back
