They're an alien transportation device by the looks of things...not sure how to activate the thing though.

We looked for the sensor near the driveshaft, and it seems the cdti doesnt have one (my dti did)

It's actually really starting to bug me, its gutless and I'm getting less than 150 miles to £20 of diesel atm...

    Any fault codes?
I do know the cdti's are extremely sensitive to slightly dirty injectors too.
    New filters/service etc?
    And possible egr valve.

Fault code relates to boost pressure/performance range issues

Well that solenoid in the first pic could well be the boost control solenoid, have you checked all vacuum hoses etc?

The first picture looks very much like the Boost control solenoid and the vacuum hose should run to the turbo wastegate...

The second one is the Boost Pressure sensor (MAP sensor). This can be taken out and cleaned. When i took mine off it was completely covered in gunk so i bought a new one .. Cost about £50. Then i bought a new manifold for £70 and it came with the Boost Pressure Sensor so i have a spare one in the garage if you want to make an offer ..
