It may be an injector with a bad spray pattern which atomises beter when the engine bore temp is higher, check your glow plugs elements for pitting, also check that your rubber injector spill off pipes are in good order and not drawing in air.

As spedo said if you check the glow plugs for any pitting (surface defects) than if there are any its a sign that you probably have an injector issue easiest way. Other than that get a professional to test them.

if your looking on ebay they can be as little as £20 each for a used one iirc and i think at any decent diesel specialist your looking about £30-£50 to get them cleaned.

I think you may be drawing in air somewhere, try checking the rubber injector spill of pipes, and that the filter head pipes are in good and tight somtimes the seals go. Make sure the filter is full right up with fuel and that the filter head is not over tightened as this can distort it the top seal and draw in air.
