    Yet another ridiculous Halfords experience

    This was just funny.
My air con is smelling so i wanted to sort it out. Looked on the Halfords website under services and they apparently clean it for you using Comma which is the best brand, for £4.
Buying the can and doing it yourself would be £11.99 from Halfords. So its cheaper to let someone else do it?

Anyway rang up asking if they do it there, she replied yes. I asked if i need to book it in to be done or if i can just show up and she goes, 'yea you can just show up really'.
So i go, 'Ok so can i just come down a bit later then?'

She goes, 'Well probably better to wait until monday cuz there is no one in today who knows how to do it'.

Lmao, so there is no one in the store able to push a button down on a can? Because thats literally all thats involved.

I was trying not to laugh but i figured i'd give it a shot and say, 'what if i do it myself but with a member of staff with me, would that still be £4?',

She goes, 'No that would be free', i said 'what?' And she goes, 'If you buy the can for £11.99 and do it yourself its free'. Well obviously! You're not gonna pay yourself for your own labour lol. She then started going on about regassing which isnt what i wanted so basically told her i dont want to do that.

So now i have to wait until Monday for some monkey to mess about with my dash board trying to figure out how to turn the AC on, and hopefully he has the knowledge to place a can in the car and push a button.

As Comma air con cleaner is £10 everywhere else i figured i may as well let Halfords do it for £4. Ridiculous

I'm not sure to be honest. I aksed her and she said if you buy it and do it yourself its £11.99 if you let them do it its £4.
    On the website it says:

For just £3.99, using specialist Comma Air Con Cleaner, your local Halfords store can clean your air con’s air circulation system, eliminating harmful bacteria and odours. Pre-booking may be required - contact your local store. Clean subject to vehicle inspection. Cost of Comma Air Con Cleaner is additional.

Oh yea just as i pasted that i noticed the last sentence.
Screw that then. Paying a monkey £4 to press a button? I'd rather throw my money down the drain!

If they bodge it up, it would probably cost you more than £12 to fix the car lol.

    Better just do it yourself.

It is £4 cost for them to do it, you do have to buy the product. Otherwise its like saying halfords fit radios for £20, so why bother buying one!!!
