Where is the recirculation vent on a Mk4?

Ive got an air con bomb that i want to use.
Last time i used one it says to put the can under the passenger footwell but away from any trim so i put it just infront of the glove box so the spray didnt go all over the glove box.
I think i did it wrong because the smell lasted about 3 days before the bacteria smell returned.
Is the recirculation vent behind the glove box area?

It's behind the glove box so put it there, also changing the pollen filter may help with the smell too

It was a Texaco one which i got free.
I discovered Halfords do it though, they use Comma which is the best and is only £4.
I'll go there. And i have changed the pollen filter, no help though.
