    1.9cdti or 1.8tdci pls help

hi all, just registered as a new member, and really need your expert help so here goes:

i am fortunate to have between 12-13k to spend on a nearly new-ish car i have narrowed it down to 2 cars/ astra sport hatch 1.9cdti xp sri 150 or focus 1.8tdci zetec s both on 09 or 59 plates, heres the pros and cons i am struggling with only my opinion though:

    astra:

    pros:

    awsome loooks
    much quicker engine than focus

    cons:

    cabin looking really dated now

    focus:

    pros:

    good looks
    cabin better than astra
    good agile chassis

    cons:

    slower than astra
    noiser than astra diesel

pls can you guys help me with my dilema heart is astra brain is saying focus, i have driven both cars at dealerships around leicester, and still cant make my mind up.

thanks in advance for all your help.

I am sorry but i have to diagree with you saying that the 1.8 TDCi is noisier. My father's 1.8 TDCi focus was alot quiter than vauxhall's 1.9 cdti engines, these are alot noisier even when they are warmed up. I think you should choose the Astra though as the newer focus' don't look as good as the original mk1 focus' plus vauxhall parts are cheaper (but Ford's tend to be more reliable).
