the lower spec cars (Envoy, LS, SXi) all had 4 stud whereas from SRi up had 5 stud. Also, on the coupe's and cabriolet's, they all had 5 stud apart from the 1.6 16v which had 4 stud.

    Stud patterns are:
    4 stud: 4x100
    5 stud: 5x110

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

I had TSW Volcno's on my old 4 stud mk4. There's plenty on the aftermarket, but no so many OE ones.

Can look at doing a 5stud conversion
    Current: Veccy-C 03 1.8i
    Previous Astra G's: W SXi 1.6i
    , 51 SXi 1.6i, 02 SRi 1.8i

Ths is untrue i have a sxi diesal with 5 stud. i Believe after 2001ish vauxhall put 5 studs on any spec as long as the engine was 1.8 or bigger mine being a 2.0dti sxi hence the 5 stud. This is also why the 1.6 coupe/cabriotlets only had 4 stud. Hope this clears a few things up

i cant afford to do a 5 stud convertion so looks like will have to settle for a set of 4 stud 17's

thanks to everyone for your replies

the correct answer is that the 1.8 engined Astra G used both 4 stud and 5 stud

1.8 ABS models had 5 stud 280mm front brakes, 264mm rear brakes
    1.8 non-ABS models had 4 stud 256mm front brakes, 240mm rear brakes

1.4/1.6 petrol were all 4 stud regardless of whether ABS was fitted or not.

Diesel models had a very similar arrangement but as this thread pertains to 1.8 models thats irrelevant

therefore in summary, any 1.8 engined Astra G with 4 stud hubs will not have ABS
