    Shell V-Power again..

When I bought the car last year the seller told me he always used V-Power. I carried on using it except for the last few months. and then you get the usual feeling that the car's feeling sluggish compared to how it used to feel.

So I put £20 of V-Power in and magic happened!

seriously, I flew up that hill like I've never flew up that hill before!

Can't honestly say I've noticed any difference from V-Power at all. I used to run it religiously on V-Power then started using normal Shell unleaded (when V-Power went upto 127 a litre) and feels near enough the same, with same MPG. Maybe make more of a difference on the turbo's but can't see it making much, if any difference to smaller standard NA engines. Conisdering V-Power is 124p and 117 for unleaded, I can't justify the cost without any real improvement over Shell unleaded.

I don't know how much of it is psychological. You expect it to be better so you automatically think it is better.

    Just my experience/opinion obviously.

Well I drive regular from southampton to pembroke in wales.
With normal unleaded I get around 35mpg but with v-power I get high 40mpg. Got the 1.8 and an automatic gearbox but with the v-power I do around 480 miles to the full tank. Cruise control helps as well mind

i agee with jbee its all in the mind, every time ive either put v power/tesco 99oct i dont feel any difference however there is a different exhaust note on start up and on tick over.

for a N/A engines its not realy worth putting in imo (would just put 30/40 quid in every 6 months just to clean parts out)

its only really for high perfromance turbo/tuned/maped cars
need a detailer in south yorkshire?

first time i put vpower in my car it felt a wee bit happier but after that £30 was through going back to normal 95ron felt just the same.

I run about £30-40 through my car every now and then to give it a wee clean which i belive it does. smells nicer burning aswell for some reason....or maybe thats just a mental thing aswell

I run tesco 99ron on the gsi and have never noticed a difference. Maybe have to fill it up with a tank of premium to see if it actually makes a difference
