As some of you may know, on the 2/4/10 a bloody old man pulled out of a minor road without looking and has totaled the front of my car

Literally 5 days after putting the new headlights, hid kit and chrome grille on....anyway car was towed this morning and i managed to get a few pics of the damage......just heart broken....

....well the solicitors have been in touch .... the engineers report has come through and its a write off...

The car has been valued at £2225
    Salvage (buy back) is £200

I need a new front bumper, grille, bonnet, bonnet lock, front lower cross-member, radiator and radiator cooling fan

Well I'm definitely gonna buy it back .... so lets see how long and more importantly how much it takes.....

    update coming soon...

Heard from the solicitors yesterday, apparently the write off cheque is in the post....

....although its not an admission of liability, its a without prejudice payment (payment made by 3rd party insurance to mitigate losses such as: hire car, storage fees etc...)

Apparently the old guy is adamant that the accident was my fault, and he was fully entitled to leave a minor road, turning right (crossing two lanes of traffic), without looking, with no space causing him to stop inside a yellow box on the junction

.....the old man also called me today and said he would fight tooth and nail to get the money back, apparently I'm a liar, a terrible inexperienced driver, and an all round menace to society.... ......

......dear oh dear...... i thought old people were nice?

anyhow....car is being recovered as i type and arrangements for parts have been put in place...so hopefully the next post will be a fully repaired car

BIG THANKS GO TO : TC-DNB (JR SPARES) & SOUTHWEST VAUXHALL SPARES (01285861707) - BOTH VERY VERY HELPFUL & VERY VERY CHEAP

once the OPC grill was on...i decided to opelise the entire car....so here are the pics...btw if you going to change your steering wheel badge like I did....BE CAREFUL...too hard and you'll snap off the three prongs....and them's are not easy to get out ....

then debadged and urm....i suppose 'rebadged' the rear...i wasnt sure whether or not to keep the 'astra' so i just left it.... (you may also be able to see the exhaust tip i put on yesterday....couldn't afford a backbox just yet lol

and finally popped down to halfords to pick up a new pollen filter....and here's the obligatory new and old pic...not forgetting a shot of crotch a la me.....
