How can I get my CD player out of safe mode?

Hi, just bought my first Astra, an sxi 1.8. The CD player is in safe mode but I have no idea where to get the code from. It is not in the documentation I got in the car.

I was thinking about putting a different CD player in, but would this affect the LED display on the dash?

    Thanks very much!

If you don't have the car pass, get one from vauxhall. It has all the codes from the car on it. This is assuming that it is the original radio and not one that someone has put in to return it back to standard.

    Costs £25-30 iirc

Aftermarket CD player will work with the MFD, however it may take the date away when you play music (mine does) and it won't show the radio station but the CD player will do this anyway. You can also retain the steering wheels controls with an adaptor (check it's suitable first)
