    Toyota mr2, 1990, what to look for, any good?

    Gentlemen,

    One of my friends' is going to see one this week or next week, T&T, 70,000 miles, 2ltr etc, but he doesn't know anything about cars and I have never been in one or anything like that! any experiences men? what to look for?

    If it's a T-bar make sure it doesn't leak. 2l versions are usually quite bulletproof. Also if it is the turbo version make sure the turbo works

    Hehe yeah I know about the engine! it's the NA 2Litre, no it's the earliest of the other one I think, but then again I dont know because he doesnt know what to tell me!

    If it's a 2L, it's a MK2 with a 3SGE. Engine is pretty bomb-proof, so just check for common things on any car of that age, unusual smoke, rust, rattles etc etc.

    That's ok then, should be mechanically sound. Thats all I needed to know. I'll check the oil etc but has T&T so it's roadworthy lol

    as above a well maintained 3sge should be sound

    check for leaky roof, rusty sills... make sure the clutch is ok as they are a mission to change
