    Z16SE Drivebelt exposed?

    Hi all,

A bit of a random and perhaps silly question that I hope someone can help with.

Is the bottom, crankshaft pulley and drivebelt (mistakenly typed cambelt on thread title!) exposed on this engine type? It is a 1.6 8v Z16SE.

Reason to ask is I had the car jacked up and the OSF wheel off and could clearly see the pully with the belt around it when looking inwards from the wheel arch. I would have thought there should be a cover or guard to keep out any dirt or moisture and minimise the risk of any damage from anything thrown up by the wheel?

Just want to check in case anything is missing on the car, otherwise to just be reassured about this part of the engine.

    Thanks all
