Thumbs Up Mk5 spoiler fitting help please :)

Right then I have got my self a xp spoiler and it's come with screws and 2 strange blue bits of plastic that I ashume locate the drill some how... And a big sausage shape tube of stuff...

I'm starting painting today and wondered how I fit it after, do I need some m3 body tape and put it all round the edge?

    Thanks

I have just had a look at the Irmscher fitting guide and it looks like they just used tape, is this strong enough?
    thanks

Just had a look at the fitting guide, it all german to me! Looks like glue/bonding agent squeezed around where the tape was pulled off. It must be tried and tested. Do not like the look of the aeriel in a more vertical position though to accomodate the tailgate opening.

Get some sikaflex and double sided tape, put the tape down along where the spoiler will sit but then also put a line of sikaflex about a centimetre or so apart all along the tape edge. This will give you a very good bond and there should be no issues with it falling off! Make sure the surfaces are super clean however, or this will be your downfall!

I would suggest some kind of alcohol based cleaning solution as this will just evaporate. White spirit is an option, but has potential to damage paintwork, so be careful if you go for that option.

Mate, not sure if it's the angle of the photo, but that doesn't look right, the bit under the spoiler that's showing shouldn't be visible, at least it isn't on mine, which was factory fitted. I'll try and get a pic up later.
