    how to boost my aerial

    is there any way to boost the performance of my radio aerial . since taking out the factory head unit and replacing it with my jvc the signal is rubbish. ive checked everything and all the leads seem ok .

    Weird, my aftermarket HU has a much better signal than the CDR500

    i found that the little wire in the centre of the grey head connection came loose causing a poor reception, i went through 4 head units before i found out the problem.

    no the radio channel comes up on mine i put the original head unit back

    Because that comes on i'm going to say it;s not wired properally and the aerial booster is powered up. Take the headunit out and join up the blue wires

    should the date not be displayed then. why would that interfere with the aerial??

    When the standard radio is on it sends a feed out to light the steering wheel contols, power the aerial booster and switch the display ready to recieve info. A aftermarket one will do the same but obviously the top display will be black (where the date is) when wired correctly

    is there a diagram anywhere to show how to join the blue wires ,sorry for being a pain
