got a text from them yesterday (with the wrong name and for derby branch) asking me if i want a summer check for £25 (think it was that price) now today got another one but in my name saying they sent me a wrong text yesterday and are willing to give me a summer check for free (including topping up oil) from sheffield branch

anyone else get this is it a bit of a scam to get me to go and have something done or is it a genuine mistake?

Don't know how close you are to the dealership/garage, but it probably wouldn't do any bad if you pop right in and ask them if it's genuine or not

Yep, it's like their free winter checks they did. They found non-existent faults on my ex's, saying the tyres were illegal for one which they weren't as they had just been replaced with part worns by a reputable garage (all had 4mm all over). Also told her some other bollocks, luckily she asked for independent advice before agreeing to have anything done. She got a list of 8 faults that needed resolved 'immediately', in reality only 3 needed fixed. The others would be advisories at best.
