    HELP - Car not start

    Guys,

No time to search. Need car and it won't start. I've been putting my screen in the dash so have had MFD, heater control and hazard switch out.

The ignition II seems okay but when I turn the key to start everything dies until I release the key. Also, if I lock the door by key fob it open immediately again!

    Cheers...........

battery seems ok. noticed needles bouncing as they fall to zero.

Car keeps unlocking too (uncommanded, immeadiately after lock)!

Screen been in for ages on clamp, just set into console now.

Jump started the minute the missus got home. Engine running - must have been a flat battery. Car PC normally lasts for much longer!

Needed my daughter to push the bonnet down whilst I popped the bonnet too!

Panic over, sorry guys - got a little desperate there....

Yea when my batt was about dead the car starting doing strange things. When my Corsa Battery died (which it did loads cause i could never be bothered to replace it), it would all light up but just wouldnt start.
With my astra the headunit light would pulsate and random things would stop working like the rear demister.

if you try and lock the car, but all the doors open straight after its because you have a low battery.

Many thanks guys, defo the battery. Ran it on the drive for 40 minutes or so before taking it out for a spin. All good now. Typical that it happened at school pick up time!

I suspect it was the messing about with the hazard switch earlier that had zapped the battery as the Car PC draws very little current, even when up and running to the max. As I've put the screen where the air vents/hazard switch is I've put a Saab hazard switch in place of the cigarette lighter.

Next up, tidy all the cabling!
