    astra h 1.6 vvt oil change

    Does anyone know how much oil the astra h 1.6 vvt engine takes.and is it fully synthetic oil.

    i would say it would be about 4ltrs or so. Change the filter, drop the oil then top up with new oil. It will be something like 5w-30 semi-synthetic or u can use fully. or even 10w 40 would do

    What he said but depending on the mileage i always like to chuck in an Engine Flush around every 20-30k just to make sure the engine is 100% crap free

    I went to halfords for 5w30 fully synthetic oil , they seem to have synthetic oil for various makes of car bmw, ford, vauxhall etc are they having a laugh or what ,surely this must be a wool pulling exercise to make more dosh.
    Any info would be welcome.

    Nope unfortunately not, Alot of PDI engines in Vags etc need longlife oils if you use a normal Semi synthetic or Mineral Oil there is a noticeable difference in power etc, a mate of mine needs longlife oil in his smart diesel he used ordinary Castrol GTX Magnatec and the car has had a considerable drop in performance, its very sluggish when before it was very nippy,

    Oil can make a huge difference in some cars, but never heard of any oil causing running problems in a vauxhall, either go to vauxhall for their oil or use what someone like castrol reccomend

    I used fords fully synthetic 5w30 that I had in the garage do you think I should change it to vauxhalls synthetic oil or is there much difference.
