    footwell lights - illegal?

iv searched google and forums to check and all i seem to be able to find is "are footwell lights illegal to have on, WHILE DRIVING"

i want to know if its legal to have footwell lights fitted at all, example, have them linked to the interier roof light thing so they come on when i open the doors etc... but go off while driving.

i plan on fitting the 3 led blue interier light, blue footwell lights 1 for each side, and maybe 2 or 3 little led's in the door speakers.

Shouldn't see why it should be a problem I had footwell lights in my last car and I think if it's not shining in the drivers face or distracting other drivers it's ok well atleast that's what I was told anyway

No there legal enough, my dad's Honda Civic comes with them fitted from the factory so i would assume they are legal.

I think so long as they are not mega bright, and don't shine directly out of the window then you are ok.

I had the misfortune to come home in a recovery truck on Friday evening after the alternator fell to bits on my Combo, the truck was fitted with red lights in the roof lining which where on all the time through the journey, they were quite dim bulbs however.
