    how do i remove a cdr 500?

    hi all how do i remove a cdr 500 form my astra mk4 im having real trouble ive removed the 4 grub screws and put the prongy thingys in lol but it wont budge

    On mine, it was just a case of unscrewing the four alan bolts in each corner. Then poking the prongs in all the way and yanking it out. Sounds like this is what you're doing. hmmmm. Trying giving a bit of a wiggle. Have you pushed the prongs in as far as they go? Maybe try some other prongs.

    After its out, they'll be a big torx bolt behind where the HU sat which holds the cage in. This'll need removing before you replace the HU.

    Having done this several times, I can see 4 options...

    1. As above persevere wiggle it shake it and try to pull it out.
    2. Take the glovebox out and attack it from behind.
    3. Wait for some better help.

    and my personal fav....

    4. Same as 1 with the inclusion of a pair of pliers and give it some violence and pull it out.

    you can also take the slot out underneath the stereo and push the stereo out from the back
