Stick to 10w/40. On Trade Club via AOC membership this would cost you about £12 for 5 litres.

Is that fully synthetic? I read somewhere that 5w was better?

I've done 155,000 on a 1.6 16v on Vauxhall 10w/40 semi-synthetic and the engine is not worn at all internally to be worth mentioning. No reason to change from it if you ask me!

10w40 is the correct specification for your engine and year

thats what most ppl would advise u use

therefore this is what i would advise

5w30 is just too thin in my experience

10w40 semi is more than adequate

5w30 oil is only for your car when its new. after about 30k miles that oil is too thin and then it will just burn. 10w40 is what you should be using now mate.
