    Exhaust center pip help.

Just a little bit of advice needed.... Currently running a standard exhaust system with the irmy backbox, which is obviously still restrictive. Seen a few bit on ebay...

Just wanted to get advice on what these will do for my car? and if they're worth it? 1.6 16v mk4 irmy. Cheers.

all that will do is make it louder, all the main restriction is in the irmy back box

louder than it is now, but not massively loud as the irmy box is quite big and takes up alot of the sound

After having a stright through i wouldnt use one again, its nearly impossible to keep it quite even at low revs.

running a stright through silenced center from cybox which is much easier to keep quite around town n coming back up my street at night but still has plenty roar when your giving it some wouldnt say that theres any loss in power aswell over the straight through

That pipe set up with the back box will still be noticably loud mike and may cause probs at mot time depending where you take it.

to be honest i don't know what to do..... I wanted to keep the astra looking and sounding classey as opposed to chavvy exhaust and body kit, like on my old motor, if you get me.

I have a Remus Race pipe and a Remus Backbox. The backbox was a mistake as its too big and silences too much, despite having no silencer on the centre section.

IMO the only way to do that is to get a silenced straight through centre silencer and fit that and keep your irmy backbox. will just be a bit throaty under acceleration.

the centre silencer will take away a bit of noise that a straight through pipe would have but will also keep the performance increase that a straigh tthrough pipe would add. for what you want, i would reccomend keeping the irmy backbox.

will still be well under the exhaust sound limit if you keep the irmy backbox.
