Switching no claims from a bike to a car

I've just spent the past hour tweaking gocompare.com for my 17yr old brother & the cheapest he can insure a GROUP ONE Corsa for is £2744.47!! The car is worth about £300!!!!!

    So i did a quote for a random 125cc bike ................. £215!!!!

Can he ride a bike for a year, earning 1yrs no claims, and then insure himself on a car using that 1 years no claims?

Or do bike no claims only carry over to other bikes?

Ive had a bike for 6 years. Currently have 6 years NCB on bike. Have a R6 fully comp insurance for £700.
Im currently looking to get insurance on my 1.4 astra as i plan to do my test soon.
Most companies dont take the bike into consideration, and best price i can get on the astra so far is £1000 TPF&T.
I think its weird how a R6 fully comp is cheaper than a car, must be down to experience on that type of vehicle.
One company asked if I drive any other vehicle and I put yes, but still came out at a silly price.
The only way I can save money is tell my bike insurance that the bike is no longer my main mode of transport.

Just spoke to my brother about this & he said when his mate tried ding this, his NCBs on the bike wouldn't apply for his car.

So basically, he's looking at just waiting on getting older in order to bring the price down, or for insurance companies to not be so ridiculous.

Wonder if their prices spiked after the crazy frost we had at the turn of the year.

I cant see insurance companies ever not being ridiculous mate! They are thiefs, especially Tesco insurance, rant over. lol.

It'd be good if bike NCD counted for cars as id be able to have 5 not just 4 NCD's.
