    Mt first detail (Pic heavy)

    Hello guys,

Well my first attempt at a good thorough detail was attempted today using my new kit I had bought. The finish is brilliant and im very happy.

My back is killing after 4 hours of hard polishing/cleaning though .

    Routine:

    • Wash with sheepskin was mit.
    • Rinse using a hose.
    • Washed again with a sheepskin washmit.
    • Rinsed again with a hose.
    • Dried using 100% cotton cloths.
    • Taped up.
    • Polished with Sonus SFX-1 - buffed as i did each panel
    • Polished with Sonus SFX-2 - buffed as i did each panel
    • Polished with Sonus SFX-3 - buffed as i did each panel

No wax applied as of yet. It was just a test to see if i could do it properly.

Anyway enough of the chatter pics:

    Taped up;

Paint finish after applying SFX-1 and SFX-2:

    And the finished product :

and the misses looking a bit tired

Kit used (along with the rotary):

Id like to thank anyone who helped me gather the kit

Looking good, good results from what I can imagine was a lot of hard work!

Make sure you get some wax on it.
Astra sold ... replaced with a Skoda ... soon to be replaced with another Vauxhall

God it was tiring but once i had got the hang of how to do the panels the SFX-2 and 3 took about 45 mins each to do.

Next up is wax i think.

Looks good Stan. I know what you mean about being knackered. As said aswell, get some wax on there. I like the finish of AG High Def Wax on silver.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

    Cheers gaz.

Wax is something ive got to consider

Theres a couple of things i didnt do that i would have liked, like snow foaming the car, but once my pressure washer returns fixed/replaced then i can do this and i might get a clay kit.

If you're wanting a budget solution for LSP mate, get some Zaino Z2Pro sealant and build up about 5 layers on there. Will give a good finish and durability and is about £15 a bottle from cyc IIRC.
