    Ebay cash on collection question

    Just curious.
Say you win an item on Ebay which is cash on collection. And you go to pick it up and it is as described but you dont like the quality of it, as in just the way its built by the manufacturer. Even though the ad was accurate, can you leave it and walk away or will this cause problems with the seller?
    Thanks

Depends on the Seller. They would be within their rights to make an issue of it if you didn't buy because they acted fairly. It would be you at fault for not researching the item properly to make sure it met your quality standards prior to bidding.

Ok. its just ive found something i want and it ends in an hour, but cant really tell how well built it is from a picture.
Could just risk it i guess.

You could ask the Seller if he'd agree for you not to buy it if the qualities not what you'd expect. Failing that if you bid you're gambling & have to face the fact there's a chance you'd be obliged to buy something you're not going to be happy with.

If it's as described then the seller has done everything they should, and you should pay regardless of manufacturer quality.

I'd be a bit pissed if someone turned up and didnt fancy the item.

If you dont like the item you can just sell it back on yourself I guess.

Id probably do research on said item before i went and had a look, thus potentionaly saves wasting the sellers time.

    Yea thats fair enough.
I didnt buy it in the end anyway. It was a pool table which looked ok but not that well made.
It really turned me off when i asked if the cues are heavy and he said no. I viewed a pool table about 2 miles away a couple of weeks ago and it was some rubbish one and the cues were ridiculously light, so i didnt bother.
I'll just look for a good BCE/Riley table.
