Thumbs Up thinking of buying a zaf gsi...any pointers please?

Hi,im really tempted to sell my vec gsi..and go and buy one of these...

is there any specific things as to which i should look for apart from the usual?

do they have any common problems with them?

    thanks in advance,

    H

basically check for engine oil leaks generally and any leaking under turbo(definatly check here) ...... check exhaust blue smoke for signs of turbo (possibly) wear..otherwise just do your general car buying checks..check for when cambelt was changed etc..

General checks for a used car, oil leaks in the engine bay, rocker cover area. As stated check under the turbo for oil from the inlet oil feed pipes.
The GSi is generally a strong car, make sure the timing belt, water pump & pre-tensioners were changed arount 40k if not take off £600 for the work to be done. There are plenty of good cars out there so look/drive at a few before buying. Remember the Arden Blue ones are the fastest.

Iv'e just done the same thing, Iv'e just traded in my Vec C 3.2 gsi for a black GSI.

Only Issue Iv'e had so far is a Leaky expansion tank, so under pressure when the engines warm It's leaking slightly, Might be worth checking also.
