well it all started off after a late night convo with jon, where he whinged he was bored and then offered to machine polish my car for me as it would give him somthing to do lol.
so 9am i get awoken by a phone call. it was jon outside my house, (doh i dont do early mornings hehe)
after a quick chat we started.
although it was still clean from sundays detail i gave her a wash was carried out. rinse down, then washed using the 2BM with megs shampoo plus and a lambswool mitt.
Thought it best to clay to get rid of the lsp on the paint already adn any tar spots that have appeared in the 2 weeks since it was last clayed. this took a short time. clay used was Zaino z18 with a homemade lube.
rewash to remove and residue in the same method as before, rinsed and dried off.
now comes jon's part. using a Porter Cable and a lakecountry pad with menz final finsh a test was carried out on the bonnet. after inspection it is all that was needed (wasnt as bad as i thought it was) so whole car was done using that apart from the roof which had a bit of menz ip added to the ff to boost the cut slightly.
whilst he was doing that i washed Jons car (same metheod as before and clayed using sonus grey and my homemade lube (OMFG had it ever been washed!!!) never seen such a heavily contaminated car but after an hour it was done. then rewashed, rinsed and dried. windows also cleaned.
time for lunch yum yum sausage sarnies and belgian choc doughnuts ftw.
with most of the car corrected Jon finished it off while i debadged the boot of his Sri T. (see another thread)
with the paint now polished its time to refine
klearkote vanilla red moose glaze was applied using a lake country finishing pad on the PC and buffed off using some shagpile MF Towels. (mmmmmm sooooo soft)
now with an even more wet look time for protection. 1Zhartglanz was in order so was applied using a megs foam pad, allowed to cure and then buffed off. (mmmm shag pile towels again hehe)
now time for every detailers best bit. Waxing i used Collinite 915 and applied it using a die cut foam pad to the whole car and buffed off using guess what, yes a shag pile towel, (can you tell i like them lol) and BOOM paint work is done. looking damn fine but no where near finished.
Trim was now dressed with megs Gold class trim detailer, (still using it up before i try something new) and windows were cleaned using megs window cleaner (awesome stuff).
woo car is now done. i didnt dress the tyres as they were done less than a weekago.
