    Question Struglling to Start

    Hi

My 2002 1.6 16v astra is struggling to start and with caugh and splutter as if it's run out of petrol.

And yes it does have fuel in it lol. But this does only start to happen once it has 1/4 or less in it. Also the fuel guage will sometimes drop between 1/4 and completely empty with the light flashing. Though when i fill it up it rises quite a bit so can't be completely empty.

Any ideas as to why it would do this? When its over 1/4 tank it starts fine and runs fine.

    James

Never trust the gauge completely. It may be that the fuel is just on the edge of the pick up pipe and the pumps struggling to draw the fuel.
