    New cybox exhaust system fitted

    Hi all,

I haven't posted on here for a while and I've just had a new exhaust system fitted so that seemed like a reasonable excuse

My Irmscher back box decided to give way the other day, along with pretty much every other part of the exhaust system. So, I decided to treat my trusty Astra (yes, I still own the same car after about 7 years...) to a shiny new stainless cat back system from Cybox:

Quite impressed with the quality of the system, and it came with all the gubbins needed to fit it (well, apart from any bolts for some reason). I don't think the back box looks quite as good as the Irmscher one did (it sticks out a bit further for one thing), but it'll do

Thats a very smart looking car you have there mate, like everything you have done to it. The wheels suit it really well I've had experience with a Cybox system and I was very impressed with it. I had the same issue with it sticking out just that little bit too much though. Did you go for a resonated center section or a straight through pipe?

Thanks for the positive comments. Answers to questions:

    1. I asked for the centre silencer. I assume that's what I got (centre section is a wider cylinder rather than just a simple pipe?), though it's still a bit too noisy for my tastes. Hopefully it will get quieter as it cokes up over time.

The pain is that it seems to be rather boomy at low revs and then it dies away to a more acceptable level as the revs increase... a bit embarrassing round town
    2. Wheels are BBS RZ

Ditto, it'll lose the boominess after a few weeks of running, and get quieter still over a longer period. Good choice to go for the centre silencer

That looks really tidy and, for what it's worth, I reckon it sits perfect in relation to the bumper.

    Standard - but Nice.

Comforting to hear that it'll get quieter

Cheers Dan, though you can't really see in the pics that it's not quite right. As torquenstein mentioned, it sticks out just a tiny bit further than would be ideal. Hardly a major issue though.
