Question Side + Back 'bumpers' remove

    Hi,

Thinking about removing these extra black bits of plastic from the side and back. (btw is 'bumpers' the right name for them?)
What do people think? Quite like the other black bits on the handles / side mirrors, but think it would like nice without the 'bumpers' and all smooth.

Are these just glued on, so I can use the boiling water / nail polish method to take them off?

I've done some mock ups in photoshop to show you what I mean:

    Side 'Bumpers' On:

    Side 'Bumpers' Off:

    Back 'Bumpers' On:

    Back 'Bumpers' Off:

Bump Strips. Yea that looks good. The strips along the side am sure are just glued on and can be removed like you mentioned. I am unsure on the rear though. I know redhotpanther has removed his along the side.

The sides as said above will come off fine as they are glued on. If you take a proper look at the bumstrips on the front and rear bumper, you will see that they're situated within grooves as they are clipped in (IIRC). If you were to remove these, you'd have to filler, smooth and spray.

    Thanks for the replies!

    Found this post from 'redhotpanther'

Will probably take the sides off then, but not sure about the back ones.

    Should I..
    a) Paint them white (is this possible? and if so what with?)
    b) Buy some white ones
    c) Remove, fill, smooth, spray
    d) Leave em black

    What do ppl think?

I would try and get a hold of some white ones, if not spray them yourself.

Depends on how much you want to spend doing this type of mod as i've had the bump strips removed from my back bumper but it needed the gaps filling, sanding and painting and it cost me £210 to get mine done but it does look good and i haven't seen any others with it done but like i said it depends on how much cash you want to throw at it.
