    upgrading z20leh

i have a z20leh engine to go into my astra 888. but before i think about putting it in i would like to know what the weakness are. i have already sent the turbo off to TD for there stage 2 hybrid

my target will be over 320bhp.

also what gearbox would be best F23 with diff or M32 with diff, cost not relevent as i can get the m32 for cheap.

any help will be great and also some prices would be great thanks

Snap got a leh and m32 with TD turbo, diff in m32. TBH standard internals will handle that power.

tunners used to say the rods are the weakest link after 330, but now there are vxrs running the cast garrett set up at 350 plus on standard internals without any problems... but who knows for how long. if you can aford it, then id change the rods then the cars ready for moe power once you get board of the td stage 2 turbo.

m32 are really good with the quife diff. if anything lightened flywheel an cltch kit wouldnt go amiss. but its all depends on money..

ive been running 300 bhp for the past 3 years an no problems. going down the garrett route now so starting to strengthen everythin up.

If i was you mate id change to steel rods and ARP bolts. Even though they can handle that power is it worth the risk? Im sure the cost of them fitted is less than the cost to fix if one lets go.

Also people will tell you that the LEH crank cant handle big power but mines fine

If you want it to be really safe swap the rods and fit ARP head studs, after that the weak link is the small standard size turbo.

Completley different cranks, different casting and LEH crank doesnt have gears for balancer shafts.
