    astra gsi wierd problem help

    MK4 Gsi

I have had a turbo timer on it for a while now, and just decided 2 days ago ill finish putting the last wire on.

    : speed sensor wire

i located the wire i needed to tap into at the ecu end, A59 speed signal wire ( Blue with a red trace )

so i cut back the coating and just solder the wire on to it for the simple reason of making sure it worked first before i did a neat job.
I road tested it, the speed did not move on the turbo timer, so it wasnt working.
I took the wire back of and neated up the wire and put it all back and left it.
Speedo works sensors are fine, but now i get the car with the spanner on my dash, with fault code P0500. Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction...

doesnt affect the car at all, code clears with the tech 2, or modus at work. but returns after about 5-10 mins of driving.

    any ideas ?

Took a while to find it as it was that small!! there was a (tiny) tiny bit of dirt on the ecu pin, tht was causing a bad connection..

all is fine now, it was confusing me as i knew i hadnt done anything, and i had tested all the wireing and readings and all was perfect.
